Continuing with our posts about some of our wonderful volunteers, we asked Mandy, who started volunteering with us earlier this summer how she felt about working at the sanctuary.This is what she had to say:
‘When I first met Peter through dancing & heard he was running this fantastic sanctuary with Kelly I was really keen to come & help in any way I could. I’ve always loved being around animals. I can’t wait to get there every week & help muck out, have a cuddle with the turkeys, give Lana & Cecil a stroke, it’s such an amazing place to be.
It’s really difficult to pick a favourite animal as they’re all lovely but I have a soft spot for Lana & Cecil. I think the funniest moment so far is when I cleaned out the chickens’ water, I turned my back for a second & when I turned back Ryan the Canada goose was having a lovely paddle in it.
I think Peter & Kelly are amazing to give such a wonderful home to all the gorgeous animals.’
