After years of adopting a variety of abandoned and rescued animals as pets we decided in 2023 to go one step further and establish the Pen Y Bryn Animal Sanctuary at our home just outside Ross-on-Wye in Herefordshire. This is now a not-for-profit company that is largely self-funded and for which we work on a volunteer basis, but it does allow us to offer space, nourishment and safety for all of the animals that come into our care. We are constantly fund-raising in one capacity or other and always seeking supporters and sponsors to help with the costs associated in animal care.
Our menagerie of residents is changing and increasing on an almost daily basis but currently includes sheep, goats, chickens, quails, rabbits, dogs, doves, fish, tortoises, lovebirds, bantams, a cat and a barn owl.
Unfortunately we are not open to the public but do offer the occasional supervised visit and particularly enjoy meeting supporters at the many events that we organise.
