We have had two new arrivals this week, Phil a Ryeland wether sheep and Lily a mini lop rabbit.
Phil found himself alone in the paddock when his companion ewes passed away so his owner felt that she wanted to find a safe home for him where he could socialise with some more ladies. We were happy to oblige and were delighted when the ten year old Phil bounced excitedly into our field to meet Ebby, Candy and Flossie our ewes. Though somewhat older than the ladies, Phil showed plenty of energy, perhaps a little too much at first! But within the hour the four had settled into each other’s company well and were happily wandering around as a mini flock as if it had always been thus.
Lily is just one year old and a beautiful white rabbit who has clearly been loved and well cared for. Unfortunately however her owner has taken a new job and no longer has the time to care for her properly. Lily is now in one of our inside areas where we are hoping we will be able to pair her up with one of our other does. At present she certainly seems happy enough watching the rabbit activity on the other side of her wire.
