Another spotlight on one of our incredible volunteers. This week it’s Nancy who comes to us as part of her Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme at John Kyrle High School.
Nancy says:
‘I originally started volunteering at Pen y Bryn Animal Sanctuary because I needed to do volunteering for my Duke of Edinburgh Award at school. At first, I thought I would just complete the hours I needed and then stop, but I ended up enjoying it so much that I wanted to carry on! I love spending time with the animals and helping out wherever I can. It’s really nice knowing that I’m doing something useful and making a difference, even if it’s only in a small way.
Peter and Kelly are both so lovely and have created such an amazing sanctuary for all the animals. You can tell how much they care about every single one of them and how much time and effort they put into looking after them. I really enjoy going there and being part of the sanctuary, and I’m so glad that doing my Duke of Edinburgh volunteering led me to something I genuinely love and want to continue doing.’
Thank you Nancy, we really appreciate your hard work and dedication.
